777 medals awarded on the occasion of the 2019 Sports Festival

The season of the awards ceremony has arrived! The atmosphere was festive but especially sports. It was held on Wednesday, June 12 in the late afternoon in the Court of Honor of the Monaco City Hall for the traditional Sports Festival.

It was in the presence of David Tomatis, Counselor at the Prince’s Cabinet, representing the Sovereign Prince, Karen Aliprendi de Carvalho, National Councilor, representing the President of the National Council Stéphane Valeri, Christophe Prat, Director of the Department of the Interior, representing the Government Counselor – Minister of the Interior Patrice Cellario. As well as several representatives of the Monegasque institutions, Mayor Georges Marsan and Jacques Pastor, Deputy Mayor of the Sports and Associations, surrounded by Chloé Boscagli Leclercq and Claude Bollati, Deputies to the Mayor, as well as Melanie Flachaire, Councilor Communal, warmly congratulated the presidents, leaders, coaches and of course sportsmen of the Principality’s sports associations and federations gathered for the occasion.

A total of 35 disciplines were represented, and 777 medals were awarded during the ceremony – 89 gold, 114 silver, 173 bronze, and 401 medals of distinction.

Every year, the Sports Festival is a highly anticipated event for all sports members, young and old, whose excellent results during the past season are rewarded here.

Three other awards ceremonies are scheduled in the City Hall’s Cour d’Honneur until the end of the month: those of the Monegasque Language Contest on Monday, June 17, of the School of Fine Arts – Pavillon Bosio le Wednesday, June 26 and, finally, the Rainier III Academy on Thursday, June 27.
