Monaco Art en Ciel 2019 – International Competition of Fireworks

No summer season without fireworks and Monaco is no exception to the rule! A popular annual event – almost an institution, the fireworks competition in the Principality, renamed “Monaco Art en Ciel” last year, attracts a large and heterogeneous audience every year. From Saturday, July 20, enthusiasts of fireworks, Monegasques and residents, as well as many tourists, will rush to the edge of the Port of Monaco to admire the prowess of the artificers.

The first firework will take place Saturday, July 20 at 22h, with the Lithuanian artificers of the company Blikas and mark the opening of the 2019 edition. The show proposed by Lithuania refers to the history of music early in the Middle -Age nowadays, through a vibrant program and no less than 18 musical excerpts!

Then will follow the Spanish artificers, Hermanos Caballer, Saturday, July 27 at 22h; then England with Sirotechnics on Saturday, August 3 at 9:30 pm; and finally the Ukrainian fireworks, Dance of Fire, Saturday, August 10 at 9:30 pm, which will close the 2019 edition of the Competition.

Each evening will begin with music, a concert proposed by the Mayor on the Port of Monaco – a concert that will also continue after the fireworks.

Regarding security measures, two secure areas will be developed and made available to the public from 18h on the day of the each firreworks: the first at the Quai Albert I and the second at the Princess Grace Theater. The sound system will only be installed in the secure area of ​​Quai Albert I.

Finally, at the end of the Competition, the Jury Prize and the Public Prize will reward the best show or shows. The jury of this new edition, chaired by André J. Campana, Deputy Mayor representing, and composed of Claude Bollati, Deputy Mayor, Séverine Canis, Director of Foresight, Urbanism and Mobility, and Françoise Cellario, Danielle Marchadier and Mathis Chatillon, three pyrotechnics enthusiasts, will evaluate the shows according to specific criteria of notation.

Once again, the public will also be able to vote on the website www.monaco-feuxdartifice.mc the day after each shooting and until August 17. The Public Prize will be awarded to the fireworks having obtained the highest rating from Internet users, at the end of the Competition.
