Dismantling Guy Lartigue’s fountain at Larvotto

As part of the Larvotto rehabilitation project, the New National Museum of Monaco is piloting a vast conservation-restoration project to move 9 sculptures installed in the open air.

Among these works, the Guy Lartigue fountain entitled “Tribute to Princess Grace ” (1969), part of the NMNM’s collections, is currently being dismantled.

The project, led by Brice Lartigue, son of the artist, started in June 2019. This week, the large columns of water are cut up and removed, crated and transported to a specialized restoration workshop.

Tribute to Princess Grace ” will be fully restored, in view of her future resettlement in the Principality.
