Four years ago, an Academy was set up in Monaco to perfect the training of young Russian singers at the beginning of their careers thanks to a cooperation between the Monte-Carlo Opera and the Foundation for Social and Cultural Initiatives in Russia.

Ten seasoned singers, selected all over Russia, have just spent three weeks in the Principality perfecting their repertoire of French and Italian operas.

At the end of the camp, they will perform tonight in public. Their concert will take place in the Salle Garnier.

For twenty days, they worked with the great soprano Barbara Frittoli, the conductor Jean-Yves Ossone, the director Yves Coudray and the Russian, French and Italian singers Kira Parfeevets, David Zobel and Samuele Pala. Beautiful casting for a teaching internship! The ten trainees are four sopranos, two mezzos, a tenor, two baritones and a bass. They will perform in various operatic arias.

In the first part of the concert, seven dancers who won a recent choreographic competition in Russia will be applauded. Because when it comes to opera when the singing is there, the dancing is never far away!
