A 166-space car park inaugurated in the Moneghetti district of Beausoleil

A new public car park located on Avenue Paul-Doumer, in the heart of the Moneghetti district of Beausoleil, was inaugurated last Saturday by Mayor Gérard Spinelli. It will be overlooked by a shared vegetable garden.

This underground car park is called “Victor-Hugo”. It has taken the place of a former building housing a transport company that has long been part of the neighbourhood’s landscape, and now offers 166 parking spaces on six levels. It makes it easier for residents to park their vehicles, improve their living conditions. And also to provide a new dynamic for local businesses.

The layout of these parking spaces responds to a recurring demand from the residents of Beausoleil while avoiding “all-concrete”. Because parking is not everything.

Above, a vegetable garden has been set up in the middle of a children’s park. It was created at the instigation of the headmaster of the Paul-Doumer school, Julien Sens-Olive. He wanted to create a place for all generations of the district to live and exchange.

GARDENING TOGETHER

The idea is to promote an intergenerational link between young children in primary school and the nursery, residents of the retirement home and residents, by coming to the garden together.

The town hall thus provides residents with both equipment and space to grow vegetables and aromatic plants. All supplied with water thanks to solar panels.

Parking spaces and green space in the heart of Beausoleil: a beautiful initiative that deserves to be developed throughout the city.
