Pending the scheduled recommencement of training on July 1st, AS Monaco players should find a familiar face, that of Bertrand Reuzeau. One year after leaving for PSG, he will likely return to the same position he held in 2016 and 2018, that of the training center director.

It is not only Leonardo Jardim who appreciates an unexpected comeback. The AS Monaco training center is also being shaken up a bit or rather shaken back into place. According to information published by L’Equipe and confirmed by other media, Bertrand Reuzeau is preparing to return to the Rock, only twelve months after his departure for Paris Saint-Germain.

It’s a curious story. Between 2005 and 2016, Bertrand Reuzeau led the Parisian squad before joining AS Monaco from 2016 to 2018. His return to the capital was unsuccessful, with many disagreements with Antero Henrique, the former general manager of PSG, and his tight-knit team.

At the end of May, Oleg Petrov, the new general manager of the Monegasque club, seeks to overcome the departure of Manu Pirès at the head of the training center. He wants a francophone who knows the club well. The profile of Bertrand Reuzeau was quickly agreed upon.

While waiting for the officialization of his arrival, the training center maestro will take the lay of the land. Indeed, the AS Monaco Academy hs many talented youngsters, but, faced with the plethoric workforce of the professional group, Reuzeau will have to set up bridges allowing the developing youth players to grow and believe in having a real future among the pros. A fantastic challenge awaits!
