Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival

© Monte-Carlo SBM

Although created in 2006 by Jean-René Palacio, the Artistic Director of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, it is Prince Albert II of Monaco who presides over the festival. The event usually takes place at the Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo, anytime between the last week of November and the first of December. Acting as a temple of music and creation for more than a century, this exceptional place is perfect for discovering the greatest jazz talents, both old and new. The event reflects jazz music in all its forms. All musical trends are showcased at the event. Organisers are open-minded and want to show how jazz has evolved, as well as show an appreciation for the orginal, traditional jazz style. In addition, the festival is very eclectic, drawing inspiration from music all over the world and providing a creative space. Why bring together music lovers like this? To show that jazz is more diverse and freely evolving than ever before.
