Since the end of 2018, information has circulated via the social networks and intranets of the Monaco City Hall and the Prince’s Government. The Monaco City Hall, under the leadership of Marjorie Crovetto Harroch, Second Deputy Mayor in charge of the Living, Environment and Sustainable Development Framework, and the Monaco Sustainable Development Association (MC2D), already partners of the “Monaco is committed to the fight against food waste”<\/em>, wanted to go further in their approach and expand their action plan by creating MEGs.<\/p>\n MEG is an acronym for “Monaco Engages Against Waste”<\/em>. Thus, in early December 2018 on the eve of the end-of-year festivities, MEG toys made it possible to recover many toys in excellent condition, donated to two Monegasque associations, Mission Enfance and the Monegasque Red Cross, which provided proper distribution.<\/p>\n Then on March 6th and 7th, 2019, MEG books allowed to collect more than 4000 books sorted and resold on the Internet by the association RecycLivre. Part of the profits was donated to the Resources Resources resource centre of Nice, which works for social inclusion through work and eco-citizenship.<\/p>\n The next collection: MEG electrical and electronic appliances, in partnership with the Monegasque Society for Sanitation (SMA). This collection is organized on Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16 from 1 pm to 6 pm, at Espace L\u00e9o Ferr\u00e9.<\/p>\n Stuff that is accepted: the small household appliances (toaster, coffee maker, robot-plunger, microwave oven, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer …), power tools type drill, screwdriver etc., camera, radio. And du electronic side, the non-exhaustive list includes a printer, computer (screen + central unit), tablet, mobile phone, game console, smoke electronic cigarettes … as well as various cables and remote controls that accumulate unnecessarily in the closets.<\/p>\n Also, the SMA will also provide a bin for bulbs and neon lights, and another for used batteries. Attention, too bulky devices must be the subject of a specific collection by the SMA and cannot be accepted.<\/p>\n Devices in working order will have a second life with affiliates of the association Fight Aids Monaco or a donor in contact with the SMA.
