For its third round, the project associated for the first time students who are in their final year of studies with an art option from the Lyc\u00e9e Fran\u00e7ois d’Assise-Nicolas Barr\u00e9 and those of Lyc\u00e9e Albert 1er. Throughout the year, these students followed a series of meetings, visits, workshops, and exchanges with professionals who work in contemporary art.<\/p>\n
The 4th edition of the “Art Monte Carlo” contemporary art fair, offered the students an international panel on the creation and the art market and served as an opportunity for them to select works relevant to the Museum’s collections.<\/p>\n
On May 16th at the Villa Sauber, “Les Apprentis Collectors” proposed\u00a0 the works of several artists to an acquisition committee especially composed of Marie-Claude Beaud, Director of the NMNM, C\u00e9cile Mouly, in charge of extracurricular activities – representative Isabelle Bonnal, Director of National Education for Youth and Sports – Fran\u00e7oise Gamerdinger, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs and Secretary General of SOGEDA, Daniel Soutif, art critic, and Oriol Villanova, artist in residence at the NMNM.<\/p>\n
This year, three drawings by Mika Rottenberg, the Argento-Israeli artist, were selected by the jury. They will soon integrate the NMNM collections.<\/p>\n
