The jury, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2019\/02\/alejandro-gonzalez-inarritu-2019-cannes-film-festival\/\">chaired by Alejandro Gonz\u00e1lez I\u00f1\u00e1rritu<\/a>, crowned Parasite by Bong Joon-ho, and distinguished, on the performance side, Antonio Banderas and Emily Beecham.<\/h3>\n<p>Parasite has received the Palme d&#8217;Or. Bong Joon-ho&#8217;s film (<em>The Host, Memories of Murder, Snowpiercer<\/em>), narrating a fantastic story of private lessons turned sour, will be seen in theaters in France starting on June 5th. The precious prize was presented to the filmmaker by Catherine Deneuve. For his part, the French-Senegalese director Mati Diop leaves the C\u00f4te d&#8217;Azur with the Grand Prix for <em>Atlantic<\/em>, a touching story of young Dakarese wishing to leave their country using makeshift boats. Actress Emily Beecham was awarded the Best Actress Award, honoring her role in Jessica Hausner&#8217;s science-fictional UFO, <em>Little Joe<\/em>. The comedian Antonio Banderas, the hero of <em>Pain and Glory<\/em>, Pedro Almodovar&#8217;s film, received the Best Actor Award.<\/p>\n<h2>An eclectic collection of winners<\/h2>\n<p>The Cam\u00e9ra d&#8217;or, distributed to the best first film among all of the festival&#8217;s categories, honored<em> Nuestras Madres<\/em> by Cesar Diaz, a feature film in Guatemala that was originally presented at Critics&#8217; Week.<em> Portrait d\u2019une jeune fille en feu,<\/em> written and directed by C\u00e9line Sciamma, was hailed with the Screenplay Award. The Jury Prize was awarded to <em>Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/em> by Ladj Ly and <em>Bacurau<\/em> by Kleber Mendon\u00e7a Filho and Juliano Dornelles. A special mention was given to Elia Suleiman, the famous Palestinian director, author this year of <em>It Must Be Heaven<\/em>.
