If the month of November is synonymous with the return of cold weather, for the last few years it is also that of the Moi(s) sans Tabac<\/em> (my month without tobacco) operation. The opportunity for smokers to be accompanied and help kick their habit altogether. Once again this year, a device put in place by the Principality is offering several options to (finally) say goodbye to cigarettes.<\/h3>\n

The tobacco-less month is back underway in Monaco! Maybe this is the one during which you will say (definitely) goodbye to smoking? To help you and especially to encourage you, the Principality offers several options to accompany smokers in this change of lifestyle, which is not always a sure thing to achieve but so beneficial to one’s health even just in short stints. Initiated by the French Ministry of Health, this operation is taking place in partnership with the Prince’s government, which has decided to join it in the effort. In collaboration with the Department of Social Affairs and the Princess Grace Hospital, the month without tobacco is stepping into its 4th edition.<\/p>\n

Aid kits, mobile apps and… sports!<\/h2>\n

And many actions are put in place to allow those who wish to follow this movement. Aid kits are available free of charge in partner pharmacies and many mobile applications can help to stop smoking more easily, including Tobacco Info Service, Smokerstop or Stop-Tobacco… The Principality also wants to focus on sports, particularly beneficial in this context. The “Run to Quit” program for people who want to quit smoking has shown that 91% of them have reduced their smoking habit. An encouraging prospect! Dr. Mohamed Mouhssine, a CHPG tobacco expert, will be present at the No Finish Line to help runners who want to put cigarettes behind them. And good to know: the consultation of tobacco in the hospital is free as part of this operation. So, who’s in?<\/p>\n
