Director Cecilia Bartoli unveiled the programme, which runs from November to April.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n

Last Tuesday, before presenting the 2023-2024 season, Cecilia Bartoli<\/a> shared her satisfaction at having sold out every performance of the first shows she programmed in Monaco. This encouraging start prompted the famous singer to continue in the same vein for the coming season, in particular by collaborating with other artistic institutions in the Principality, such as the OPMC, Printemps des Arts and the Ballets de Monte-Carlo. She has again called on a host of talents, including director Davide Livermore and the famous Chinese pianist Lang Lang.<\/p><\/p>\n\n

This season, 20 productions are on the bill, including four operas, one musical and six concerts, with a total of 41 performances. “Each project has been carefully prepared, because I wanted to maintain the prestige and quality of our programming by presenting a series of highly varied and personal performances,” says Cecilia Bartoli, who took over as director of the Monte-Carlo Opera last year.<\/p><\/p>\n\n

Tribute to Caruso <\/h2>\n\n

The first date is on 2 November with a Requiem Mass by Verdi, conducted by Daniel Barenboim. There is one change this year: there will be no opera for the F\u00eate nationale on 19 November. This is replaced by a lyrical show at the Grimaldi Forum called Caruso \u00e0 Monaco<\/em>. One of the highlights of the season, it will feature many artists paying tribute to the Neapolitan tenor on the occasion of his 150th birthday.<\/p><\/p>\n\n

At the end of the year, you won’t want to miss The Phantom of the Opera<\/em>. Adapted from the novel by Gaston Leroux, the musical composed by Lloyd Webber has been a huge success since 1986. And yet it has never been performed at the opera in France or in the Principality. TheMonte-Carlo Opera is going to put that to rights by hosting the Phantom at the prestigious Salle Garnier.<\/p>\n\n
