In total, 46 sites will be open to visitors on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

This weekend, the people of Monaco and other visitors are invited to discover the richness and diversity of Monegasque heritage through the 29th European Heritage Days (EHD), whose theme this year is “Roads, Networks and Connections”. <\/p>\n\n

In Monaco, the celebration will showcase the history of a cultural crossroads since ancient times. The Principality, formerly a well-known port then a sought-after destination during the Belle Epoque thanks to the railway, is inviting visitors to (re)discover its exceptional heritage.<\/p>\n\n

Architectural monuments, works of art or religious buildings… they all tell part of Monaco’s unique history.<\/p>\n

Exceptional access<\/h2>\n\n

All the Principality’s monuments and institutions will be open, as will Monaco Town Hall and a number of municipal sites that are taking part in the event. Monaco Town Hall will be open to the public from 10am to 5pm.<\/p>\n\n

On the programme: atour of the Wedding Suite, the new Council Chamber, concerts by the U Cantin d\u2019A Roca choir but also an exhibition of rare and previously unseen documents from the Media Library’s Heritage Collection.<\/p>\n\n

As for the Acad\u00e9mie Rainier III, it will be providing a guided tour of the premises, access to Ludovic Tallarico’s Wind Orchestra’s rehearsals, a tour of the violin maker’s workshop, and more. Several teachers will be on hand throughout the day to present their instruments and chat with visitors. <\/p>\n\n

The \u00c9cole Sup\u00e9rieure d’Arts Plastiques will also be open to the public from 10am to 5pm. It will be presenting the Garden Club #4 exhibition, entitled in translation “Dancing eyes… Dance makes me see that seeing is a dance,” as well as two guided tours. Guided tours (with commentary by a specialist) will also be on offer in the Botanical Centre at the Jardin Exotique from 10am and 2pm. <\/p>\n\n

The Oceanographic Museum, open to all<\/h2>\n\n

With its rich cultural and scientific heritage, Monaco’s Oceanographic Museum will also be taking part. It will be showcasing \u2018Marine Connections\u2019 during one-hour guided tours. <\/p>\n\n

As a bonus, visitors will be able to take advantage of exceptional reduced prices on tickets. Adults will be charged \u20ac9 instead of \u20ac19 and children (4 – 17 yrs) will get in for \u20ac6 instead of \u20ac12.<\/p>\n\n

An unmissable event<\/h2>\n\n

The Principality has been a keen participant since 1996 in this Europe-wide event, created by the Council of Europe and the European Union. Organised by the Institut du Patrimoine since 2018, the Days draw over 30 millions in 50 countries each year, which just goes to show the volume and diversity of Europe’s cultural heritage!<\/p>\n\n
