Since the beginning of the confinement, many of Monaco\u2019s key workers have been working to help the most vulnerable. Telephone helplines, food and medicine deliveries, and virtual church services are amongst the many ides that are making life easier for Monaco’s residents. Here is how the Principality\u2019s key workers and organisations alike are keeping the Rock going.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dedicated number to answer all your questions<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since last January, the Prince’s Government has set up an information centre for the general public on Covid-19. It is an information \u201chub\u201d, allowing any questions to be answered with the exception of health questions. Over the past few days, and after peaks of nearly 200 calls a day, the rate has stabilised at 80 a day. To provide even more in-depth support to Monaco’s residents, the Prince’s Government has asked psychologists to join the Covid-19 call centre.<\/p>\n

Residents and outside workers in Monaco can ask their questions by dialling 92 05 55 00. This number is accessible 7\/7 days from 9am to 6pm. It is also possible to email the following address: covid19@gouv.mc. <\/em><\/p>\n

Meals delivered to your home…<\/strong><\/p>\n

In order to best support the population, Monaco City Council<\/a> has decided to extend its meals-on-wheels service for people over the age of seventy. The meal trays are composed of a starter, a main course and a dessert, alongside bread and cheese. The cost is 9 euros for lunch, and for 8 euros extra you can also have dinner delivered.<\/p>\n

The Monegasque Red Cross<\/a> has also joined forces with local teams to offer non-food shopping. This includes pharmaceutical products. A delivery service has been set up.<\/p>\n

A Facebook group for mutual aid<\/strong><\/p>\n

On March 15th, Julia Moraly launched a support group on Facebook called \u201cAides pour les r\u00e9sidents \u00e0 Monaco pendant le confinement!!\u00a0“<\/a> [\u2018Help for Monaco’s residents during confinement], which now has more than 2,000 members. The objective? To help vulnerable and isolated people. A page that offers ideas to keep yourself busy. It also informs members about the measures taken in the country. The average age of the group members is between 25 and 50 years old, and the majority of them are women.<\/p>\n

“Virtual” church service<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a result of the precautionary health measures put in place by the Prince’s Government, Monaco’s churches have decided to create records of mass services<\/a> so that churchgoers can attend them from their homes. Each day, a recording is made by a priest from one of the Principality’s churches to be broadcast at 6pm on the Diocese of Monaco’s website. It was a measure put in place before lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19.<\/p>\n

Culture at the centre of the containment…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Unprecedented crisis, exceptional loans. In this period of confinement, the Monaco Media Library<\/a> allows its members to keep their loans, without considering them as overdue. Every day, the library team is in charge of giving ideas to review various archives. The Audiovisual Institute of Monaco<\/a> invites them to see or review certain “snapshots” shown as part of the screenings of “Tout l’Art du Cin\u00e9ma”. One particularly snapshot is entitled XIIIth Monaco Grand Prix Automobile, filmed in 1955. The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco<\/a> has allowed marine enthusiasts to directly ask questions to specialists.<\/p>\n
