The fund benefits from the financial support of the Government of Monaco and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The President H.E. Mr. Fautrier and the directors of the MedFund held their 12th Board of Directors meeting by videoconference on Tuesday 24 March. The Board of Directors approved funding of 1.8 million euros for the Marine Protected Areas in Tunisia and Albania for the next 5 years.<\/p>\n<p>This financial support, granted to local civil society organisations and national agencies in charge of protected areas, contributes to the sustainable financing of effective management of these natural areas.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">MedFund awards \u20ac1.8 million funding for Marine Protected Areas in Tunisia &amp; Albania over 5 years. For this reason, France, Monaco, Tunisia and Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation created in 2015, an environmental fund dedicated to Mediterranean MPAs: The MedFund.<\/p>\n<p>The MedFund benefits from the financial support of the Government of Monaco, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM) and Agence fran\u00e7aise de d\u00e9veloppement (AFD). The MedFund contributes to the protection of some of the most sensitive marine areas in the Mediterranean Sea.
