But it was Princess Charlene that he chose for its cover. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forbes found that choice of cover photo intriguing and devoted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/nadjasayej\/2025\/01\/07\/why-julian-lennon-put-princess-charlene-of-monaco-on-his-book-cover\/\">a recent article<\/a> to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More accurately, the photo is of Charlene Lynette Wittstock, as it was taken around 10 minutes before her wedding to Prince Albert II on July 1, 2011. Her friend Julian Lennon was backstage with her, photographing her getting ready. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the article the Monegasque resident recalls a moment of doubt on the part of the Princess before the wedding. \u201cShe just sat, staring, kind of numb in the mirror. She turned to me and said, &#8216;Jules, I don&#8217;t know if I can do this.\u2019 I&#8217;m going, \u2018What are you talking about?\u2019 She said, \u2018I can&#8217;t do it, I&#8217;m not sure I can do the photographs, there&#8217;s too many distractions.\u2019&#8221; His response: &#8220;Just let me just be a fly on the wall.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the hundreds of photographs he was able to take that day, he loved the photo of Charlene looking in the mirror before her wedding so much he chose it for the cover of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.teneues.com\/en\/book\/lifes-fragile-moments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Life\u2019s Fragile Moments<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Lennon explains to Forbes,\u201cI cropped it in a certain way, and I thought, oh my God, there it is; It&#8217;s Princess Grace, it&#8217;s the 1950s,\u201d he says. \u201cSo, I turned all the pictures black and white,\u201d looking for a feel of <em>Time<\/em> or <em>Life <\/em>magazine<em> <\/em>in that era. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The striking image was also used on the homepage for his recent photo retrospective exhibition,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lestanzedellafotografia.it\/en\/exhibitions\/archive\/julian-lennon-whispers-stanze\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Whispers<\/em><\/a>, in Venice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He explains book\u2019s title,\u00a0<em>Life&#8217;s Fragile Moments<\/em>, comes from his own experience in life. \u201cIt&#8217;s about those split seconds in life,\u201d he says, \u201cof people&#8217;s lives and things and landscapes around us that change in a heartbeat.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like the moment a South African Olympic swimmer became a Monegasque Princess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"related\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2024\/08\/i-dont-know-if-we-fell-in-love-back-then-prince-albert-ii-looks-back-on-when-he-met-princess-charlene\/\">\u00abI don\u2019t know if we fell in love back then\u00bb: Prince Albert II looks back on when he met Princess Charlene<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Julian Lennon&#8217;s recent photo book is called \u201cLife\u2019s Fragile Moments\u201d and features over two decades of fashion, landscape and portrait [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":58,"featured_media":270365,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1825,243,254],"tags":[2832],"post_sectags":[],"post_format":[2465],"class_list":["post-270342","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-editors-choice","category-news","category-people-en","tag-princess-charlene-en","format-in-brief"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v26.8 (Yoast SEO v27.4) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-premium-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Princess Charlene backstage wedding photo graces cover of Julian Lennon book<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Julian Lennon&#039;s recent photo book is called \u201cLife\u2019s Fragile Moments\u201d and features over two decades of fashion, landscape and portrait images.
