Users will be able to take advantage of the brand new cycling path linking Fontvieille to Quai Antoine 1er.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eco transport is currently bang on trend in Monaco. The Department of Urban Development (DAU) has installed a new cycle path in the Principality. At 300 metres long, it links Fontvieille to Quai Antoine 1er. \u201cWe wanted to identify a path so that cycling feels safer and so that we can encourage its use in the Principality\u201d, said Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Planning to Monaco Info. It has been built as an addition to the 1.5km long Avenue Princesse Grace and the 2.4km of public space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More stations and bikes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In view of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2020\/02\/new-bicycle-and-personal-transport-vehicle-edp-regulations-will-be-implemented-in-march\/\">Monabike<\/a>&#8216;s success, which provides electric bicycles to the Principality, the government decided to increase the number of stations and its fleet of bicycles. Three new stations will open \u201cin the coming days\u201d at the foot of the Odeon Tower, on the Rock near the Cathedral and at Guillaume Apollinaire alley. By the end of the year, eight additional stations will also be installed. The fleet of bicycles will increase from 300 to around 400. The legal age for using Monabikes has been lowered to 14 years, however, helmets must be worn until the age of 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of these new features are designed to achieve one objective \u2014 to make eco-mobility more meaningful on the Rock. &#8220;There is a desire to improve the quality of life, whether in terms of air quality or traffic as a whole, and also with an environmental approach,&#8221; insisted Marie-Pierre Gramaglia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On June 26th, the Prince\u2019s Government inaugurated 11 new Monabike stations in the Principality.
