Jean-Philippe Vinci, Director of National Education, Youth and Sports, presented an innovative system: <em>\u201cEach student will be provided with a magnetic pouch in which they must store their phone upon entering the school. A magnetic lock prevents access during the school day.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p data-start=\"1038\" data-end=\"1129\">The pouch works like a Faraday cage, blocking all communication. Vinci explained the goal: <em>\u201cWe need to wean our young generations off this digital dummy. The second more direct issue concerns the impact that artificial intelligence has on education.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p data-start=\"1839\" data-end=\"2051\">This year, psychological support will be strengthened with a <em>&#8220;mandatory introduction to the school psychologist for all students&#8221;<\/em> and collaboration with the CHPG to improve listening and early detection of distress.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mental health and digital strategies come from discussions with the Association of Parents of Monaco Schools (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/2025\/03\/lassociation-des-parents-deleves-de-monaco-a-fete-les-60-ans-de-sa-creation\/\">APEM<\/a>) and student consultations, where pupils raised concerns about academic pressure. We need to reinforce the importance of punctuality, attendance and respect for peers and teachers [\u2026] In a society that is often highly individualistic, respect for common rules is first learned and practised at school.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-maths-and-music\"><strong>Maths and music<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond disciplinary measures, Monaco is implementing an innovative strategy that reflects its ambitions. Programs such as Music for All in nursery, partnerships with the Monte-Carlo Opera and preparation for the Mathematics Olympiads illustrate a school framework committed to excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A third vocational prep program is also being introduced to ensure<em> \u201ca chosen, not imposed, career path,\u201d<\/em> said Philippe Vinci.
