{"id":316201,"date":"2025-09-26T11:11:45","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T09:11:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/2025\/09\/respite-for-motorists-as-works-in-cap-dail-halted-for-time-being\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T11:14:55","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T09:14:55","slug":"respite-for-motorists-as-works-in-cap-dail-halted-for-time-being","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2025\/09\/respite-for-motorists-as-works-in-cap-dail-halted-for-time-being\/","title":{"rendered":"Respite for motorists as works in Cap d&#8217;Ail halted for time being"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The thousands of motorists who use the Monaco exit every day can breathe a (temporary) sigh of relief: the roadworks that have been causing congestion on the Moyenne Corniche for the past three weeks have been suspended for now.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Since 2 September, building work on the &#8220;Les Romarins&#8221; residence in Cap d&#8217;Ail has reduced Avenue Prince Rainier III to a single lane for 40 metres, with a 30 km\/h speed limit. This was creating huge traffic jams every day, with journeys to Nice taking up to 1.5 hours. <\/p>\n\n<p>On Wednesday morning, for the opening of the Yacht Show on 24 September, motorists were pleasantly surprised to see the two lanes of traffic cleared of construction equipment. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-une-intervention-gouvernementale-rapide\">Swift government action<\/h2>\n\n<p><span style=\"color: black;\">Given the scale of the disruption, the Minister of State, Christophe Mirmand, described the situation as &#8220;unimaginable&#8221; and\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2025\/09\/moyenne-corniche-roadworks-government-in-talks-with-cap-dail-town-council\/\"><span style=\"color: blue; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;\">\u00a0personally took charge of the matter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: black;\"> , entering into discussions with the Mayor of Cap d&#8217;Ail, Xavier Beck, and the promoters, Erilia, to find solutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"buGegZzNAA\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2023\/08\/monaco-yacht-show-traffic-and-parking-restrictions\/\">Monaco Yacht Show: traffic and parking restrictions<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Monaco Yacht Show: traffic and parking restrictions&#8221; &#8212; Monaco Tribune\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2023\/08\/monaco-yacht-show-traffic-and-parking-restrictions\/embed\/#?secret=MwBoBXqsNo#?secret=buGegZzNAA\" data-secret=\"buGegZzNAA\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n\n<p>The result was the temporary suspension of construction work, announced by the Prince&#8217;s Government until 5 October inclusive. This respite comes at just the right time, as the Monaco Yacht Show is in full swing until 27 September, attracting nearly 30,000 visitors.
