Monaco evokes timeless glamour, elegance and luxury. It should therefore be no surprise that countless filmmakers have come to capture the Principality\u2019s unique environment. Here are some of the most famous films shot in Monaco. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">To Catch a Thief, 1955 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Shot in 1954, Hitchcock\u2019s crime film takes place on the French Riviera and stars Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. In a shot that now seems almost prophetic, you can see Grace Kelly looking at the Principality from a cliff-side road. The film, which stars Pierce Brosnan, begins in Monaco. It should therefore be no surprise that several scenes were filmed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2020\/07\/what-do-i-need-to-know-before-visiting-monte-carlo-casino\/\">the Monte-Carlo Casino<\/a>, as well as in Port Hercules, the Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo, the old town, and Fort Antoine. The film helped strengthen the appeal of the Casino. Alex (Romain Duris) runs a business which specialises in separating couples. When a wealthy man asks him to break up his daughter\u2019s wedding, he arrives in Monaco ready to carry out the task. As expected, things don\u2019t exactly go to plan. Shot at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2019\/11\/the-monte-carlo-bay-hotel-resort-wins-the-prize-for-the-most-beautiful-swimming-pool-in-europe\/\">the&nbsp;Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel &amp; Resort<\/a>, the film has become a classic of French romantic comedies.
