{"id":5934,"date":"2018-12-04T17:06:17","date_gmt":"2018-12-04T16:06:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/?p=5934"},"modified":"2018-12-04T15:14:28","modified_gmt":"2018-12-04T14:14:28","slug":"monaco-takes-part-in-the-world-food-program-held-in-rome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2018\/12\/monaco-takes-part-in-the-world-food-program-held-in-rome\/","title":{"rendered":"Monaco takes part in the World Food Program held in Rome"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6>Mr. Robert Fillon, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Monaco to World Food Program, and Ms. Martine Garcia-Mascarenhas, Second Secretary at the Embassy of Monaco in Italy, Deputy Alternate Representative to FAO and World Food Program, participated in the 2nd Ordinary Session of the Board of Directors of the World Food Program, which took place from 26 to 29 November in Rome.<\/h6>\n<p>World Food Program Executive Director David Beasley opened the session with a reminder of the latest 2018 report on the &#8220;State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World&#8221; :$821 million people are still hungry, and more than 150 million children are stunted.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Beasley pleaded for the World Food Program to be the vehicle for cultural change, moving from a food aid logic to empowerment mechanisms for the populations concerned.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0World Food Program Executive Board has adopted its Management Plan and Work Program 2019-2021. As well as numerous Country Strategic Plans (SPPs), including those of Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania and Senegal.<\/p>\n<p>These four countries benefit from the support of the Monegasque International Cooperation (Mali since 2019) for multi-year programs of school canteens, prevention and treatment of malnutrition, nutritional education and food fortification.<\/p>\n<p>The Principality of Monaco has made a declaration honouring its commitment to food security, the fourth pillar of its development aid, of which the first multilateral partner is now the World Food
