Chelsea midfielder, Cesc Fabregas is closing in on a move to AS Monaco with reports saying that the deal could be completed by next week.<\/h6>\n

The 31-year-old is now in the final 6 months of his Chelsea contract. The player is ready to make a switch in search of game time.\u00a0However, Maurizio Sarri still wants the midfielder to stay at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

Speaking last week, Sarri said<\/a>: “It would be really a problem without Cesc. I want him to stay, I don’t know the final decision of Cesc and the club of course.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

“But for me, it’s very important and if Cesc will go I think that we need to buy another player, and it’s not easy because, technically, Cesc is a very important player.”<\/em><\/p>\n

AC Milan are also interested in the Spanish international, however, they lack funds to afford Fabregas. Their manager, Gennaro Gattuso expressed his frustration.<\/p>\n

Speaking to DAZN<\/a><\/em>, he said: “We have stakes. We cannot do what we want. The club has been clear. Fabregas? There are important\u00a0figures involved.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Fabregas is yet to start a Premier League this season. He said: “I know what my role is. Unfortunately it’s not the one I want. I’m keeping it professional as usual.<\/em><\/p>\n

“I’m always trying to do my best, in the conditions, playing with the youngsters, playing with the first team, even though this year I still haven’t played with the full, full first team one game.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cBut, I’m trying to do what I can. It’s a difficult situation for me, obviously. I’m playing the cups and the Europa League.<\/em><\/p>\n

“I don’t give up. I’m not someone who you’ll see complaining or not giving his all because of that.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI’ll always be there showing my face when needed and if the time comes the time comes. We’ll see what happens.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

And as per L’Equipe<\/em><\/a>, the 31-year-old will sign a contract with Monaco by next week. This will link him with a former\u00a0teammate, Thierry Henry. The pair played together at Arsenal from 2003 to 2007.<\/p>\n

Even Goal,<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>understands that the move is very much possible. It would be a welcome addition to Henry who has endured a difficult start at the club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
