Whilst the United Kingdom, Tunisia and Nord-Pas-de-Calais will be some of the new destinations, the Air France management is looking to shut down two bases in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Airline companies are expecting to finally take off this summer. Air France has decided to offer passengers eight new routes for the busy summer season, heading to France, Europe and Africa. The destinations will be: <strong>London-Heathrow<\/strong> (five flights per week, 28 June to 5 September), <strong>Tunis<\/strong> (two flights per week, 28 June to 3 September), <strong>Algiers<\/strong>\u00a0(one flight per week 25 July to 29 August), <strong>Athens<\/strong> (three flights per week, 29 June to 4 September), <strong>Rennes<\/strong> (up to four flights per week, 31 May to 3 October), <strong>Strasbourg<\/strong> (up to four flights per week, 31 May to 3 October), <strong>Caen<\/strong> (three flights per week, 25 June to 4 September) and <strong>Biarritz<\/strong> (one flight per week, 26 June to 4 September).<\/p>\n\n<p>These seasonal flights will be added to Air France&#8217;s regular flying schedule, with flights departing as usual to Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Paris-Orly, Lyon, Bordeaux and Lille. &#8220;This flight programme could change, depending on travel restrictions,&#8221; the company added.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cet-t-plut-t-moules-ou-fish-and-chips\">Mussels or fish and chips this summer?<\/h2>\n\n<p>Air France is not the only one offering these routes though, so they will have competition this summer: British Airways already flies from Nice to both <strong>Gatwick<\/strong> and <strong>London-City<\/strong>. As for the low-cost airline Volotea, they will soon be connecting Lille with the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur, by launching a new route between <strong>Lille-Lesquin<\/strong> airport and Nice airport from 3 June.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-air-france-envisage-pourtant-de-fermer-sa-base-a-rienne-ni-oise\">Air France plans to close its Nice base<\/h2>\n\n<p>Whilst the route between Nice and Paris-Orly remains the most frequent of all European flights offered by the budget airline EasyJet, Air France on the other hand, is planning to shut down provincial bases in Marseille, Toulouse and more locally, Nice. <\/p>\n\n<p>In 2020,\u00a0 the Air France-KLM group lost 7.1 billion euros. 329 jobs have been put at risk within the company due to the \u00a0restructuring of its domestic network.
