{"id":81175,"date":"2021-06-09T12:30:46","date_gmt":"2021-06-09T10:30:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/2021\/06\/monacos-national-council-unwilling-to-compromise-on-several-aspects-during-eu-talks\/"},"modified":"2021-06-09T12:30:57","modified_gmt":"2021-06-09T10:30:57","slug":"monacos-national-council-unwilling-to-compromise-on-several-aspects-during-eu-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2021\/06\/monacos-national-council-unwilling-to-compromise-on-several-aspects-during-eu-talks\/","title":{"rendered":"Monaco&#8217;s National Council unwilling to compromise on several aspects during EU talks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The elected body wants to defend Mon\u00e9gasque interests and protect the country&#8217;s sovereignty as talks with the EU continue.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Initiated by the San Marino Parliament, representatives from the National Council and the Parliaments of Andorra and Saint Marino attended a meeting on the 2 June to discuss EU negotiations.<\/p>\n\n<p>Whilst conversations about this potential agreement with the EU date back to 2015, negotiations with Monaco, Andorra and San Marino have progressed very slowly.<\/p>\n\n<p>Many recent events have hindered the decision-making process. Brexit, amongst other international political events, as well as the Covid-19 pandemic and Switzerland dropping agreement talks with the EU have all impacted the situation.
