Once the 250-strong crowd took to their seats and the clock struck eight, Jungle Boogie rang out around the room as musicians burst onto the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-talents-from-the-world-of-music\">Talents from the world of music<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Amongst those starring on the bill were harmonica-playing Greg Zlap, who accompanied Johnny Hallyday from 2007 to 2017, and pianist Yvan Cassar, known for collaborating with the likes of Celine Dion. Taking time out of her busy schedule with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monaco-tribune.com\/en\/2021\/02\/philharmonic-orchestras-accused-of-discrimination-how-one-violinist-hit-back-at-the-comments\/\">violinist Zhang Zhang<\/a> also adorned the stage with her violin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Greg Zlap, there was no question that he would come and perform. As soon as he received the call earlier this year, his first words were \u201cyes of course, I\u2019ll be there straight away.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>After being on pause for a year, the river is finally flowing again<\/p><cite>Zhang Zhang, violinist in the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Passionate about using music to make a difference, he already does a lot of work with schools and disabled children, even visiting asthma patients in hospital. \u201cPlaying the harmonica allows them to coordinate their breathing and improve the technique needed to use their inhalers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-glimpse-of-normality\">A glimpse of normality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere was so much energy, we were dancing in our seats,\u201d commented one young girl in the audience. Postponed twice throughout the year, Friday evening finally marked the Fondation Flavien\u2019s third fundraiser concert, boosting the total funds raised since 2014 up to 643,000 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As scientists at Monaco\u2019s Scientific Centre strive to find treatments and cures, the recent discovery of a new molecule proves research efforts are paying off. Known as Axitinib, experts have identified this molecule as a potential treatment for brain tumours and money from the concert will fund the further research and clinical trials needed to assess how well it works. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA beautiful tribute\u201d was how Adrien, a student from Nice, described the concert. As musicians took a bow and the room erupted into applause, the standing ovation would suggest he was not the only one touched by the evening, dedicated to the late Flavien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you
