At the 2019 edition of the Prix de Lausanne, which took place this year from February 3rd to 10th, 2019, 16-year-old Mackenzie Brown, a young American student at the Princess Grace Academy, won the First Prize – the Gold Medal, the Audience Award and the Contemporary Performance Award at this prestigious competition, recognizing her talent and potential as a young dancer.<\/p>\n
During the selections, she interpreted the classic variation of the Bayad\u00e8re and a solo, extracted from the ballet Abstract, a piece created in 2018 by Jean-Christophe Maillot.<\/p>\n
The Prix de Lausanne is one of the most prestigious international dance competitions in the world, open to young dancers aged 15 to 18 who are not yet professional. Its mission is to discover the talents of tomorrow and allow the best of them to obtain scholarships in the largest schools and professional companies of international renown.<\/p>\n
This is the second in a row that a student from the Princess Grace Academy receives the gold medal at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne competition.<\/p>\n
