Are you passionate about football? Then Champions Promenade is a place not to be missed during your visit to the Principality. Like the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, the Champions Promenade features the footprints of several great footballers. Among them; Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Didier Drogba and many more. Following in their footsteps, on 26th August 2003, Diego Maradona removed his boots to mould the shape of his feet on the Principality’s Champions Promenade. Unlike the “Walk of Fame” on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, a place on the Promenade is only awarded to outstanding football professionals.
In addition, these players have been awarded the Golden Foot Award, an international prize awarded since 2013, which rewards players for their athletic achievements and personality. The latest person to win the prize: Cristiano Ronaldo. On 20 December 2020, the Portuguese player took his footprints under the watchful eyes of Louis Ducruet – who had his Juve shirts autographed by Ronaldo – and the founder of Golden Foot, Antonio Caliendo. They will join those of other football legends. In addition, the location and design of the new Champions Promenade, located by the sea, will be unveiled shortly.
