Lucas Di Grassi is a Brazilian driver who made his Formula 1 debut in 2010. He is the 2017 Formula E champion and lives in Monaco.

After several years of go-karting, Lucas di Grassi made his debut in motor sport in 2002, in the Brazilian Formula Renault championship. In 2010, di Grassi made his Formula 1 debut in the new team, Virgin Racing, and finished twenty-fourth in the world championship without scoring a point. He is largely dominated by his team-mate Timo Glock and makes a few youthful mistakes in a car that is not very competitive.

The Formula E championship needs a new vision.

At the end of 2011, he is hired by Peugeot Sport to compete in the FIA Endurance World Championship and the 2012 Le Mans 24 Hours.

In 2014, Audi Sport ABT recruited him to take part in the new electric car championship. He was lined up alongside the German Daniel Abt. On 13 September 2014, he won the first race in the history of Formula E ahead of France’s Franck Montagny and Britain’s Sam Bird3. He finally finished third in the drivers’ championship. He is Formula E champion in 2017.

Did you know?

With no contract with a carmaker in 2011, he teamed up for a while with Hermann Tilke to design circuits, which he had been doing since he was a child.
