What’s on in Monaco in October? Our spooky schedule
Hubble bubble toil and trouble! It’s already October in the Principality, bringing with it a (g)host of strange and bewitching events. Here is a spine-tingling selection you’ll be scared to miss.
Heritage days, the Riviera derby match, the return of the funfair, the Lion King and Frozen coming to Monaco, culture and music… October’s going to be a real (trick or) treat!
Architectural tour
For the 30th edition of the European Heritage Days, on the theme of “Architectural Heritage” Monaco is opening over 30 emblematic sites up to the public on Sunday 5 October. The Musée Océanographique, the Musée de la Préhistoire, the Jardins Saint-Martin and the Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco will share their secrets with you.
Friends of the Oceanographic Museum: “We bring together everyone who is acting to protect the oceans”
For little monsters
Who’s afraid of the ‘Pulsion’? Monaco’s traditional funfair returns to Port Hercule from 17 October to 19 November. The food stalls and children’s rides are available from 11am and everything is open from 2pm to 11pm. The fair will close at midnight on weekends but will stay open until 1 am on Tuesday 18 November.
Before its refurbishment, the Espace Léo Ferré will become a giant laser game venue on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 October. Prices are €5 for minors and €10 for adults.
Princess Elsa, Mufasa, Vaiana and Pocahontas are coming to the Grimaldi Forum. On Wednesday 22 October, the “Disney in Concert: Around the World” show will take the young and the young at heart on a magical journey involving Disney music and images. There are still some tickets available!
Strange lights in the sky
On 11 October, the Prince’s Palace will be lit up in pink, but for a very serious cause: breast cancer prevention. To support the awareness campaign and remind people of the importance of screening, monuments and institutions around the world join in on October awareness month.

Chocolate art on the wall? Until 14 October, the Wannenes Art Contact galleries are displaying eight chocolate works by international artists, and you can vote for your favourite. Head over to the Chokolashow Village on 13 and 14 October at the Méridien Beach Plaza to find out who won – there are tastings and workshops for all ages!
A symphony of spirits
No horror film scores here, far from it. Hoshi will be in concert at the Grimaldi Forum on Saturday 4 October.
From October 4 to 18, the Monaco Organ Festival is back with four concerts in the Cathedral, Sacré Coeur and Église Saint-Charles. The Friends of the Monaco Philharmonic Orchestra will be celebrating their 25th anniversary on 19 October.

On the 25th, the Concerts de la Voûte Oktoberfest will feature a concert by two violinist friends: David Lefèvre and Nicolas Delcaud.

Scary matches for Monaco’s football and basketball teams.
Including a diabolical derby! AS Monaco hosts neighbours Nice on Sunday 5 October, before their Champions League match against Tottenham on the 22nd. Toulouse round off a busy month for Adi Hütter’s men, on 25 October.

In the Euroleague, the Roca Team will be at home to newcomers Dubai Basketball on the 3rd, Spain’s Valencia on the 17th and Panathinaikos from Greece on Hallowe’en night, the 31st. In the league, Chalon (on October 5) and Boulazac (October 26) will be coming to Gaston-Médecin.
Fearsome feasts
Two big banquets this month: From 2 to 4 October, the La Condamine market will have a strong German flavour, as it celebrates Oktoberfest. Don’t forget to book your table through the market traders.
The ‘apéro des Frenchy’ is back at the Espace Léo Ferré on the 9th.
Fright night
The Société des Bains de Mer is celebrating Hallowe’en in its own style: the Lucky Wheel at the Casino Café de Paris has over €60,000 up for grabs. A host of nightclubs, including Buddha-bar, New Moods and Jimmy’z, look forward to giving you a terrifying time on Hallowe’en night.
