A Monegasque derby for Monaco United FC in the 2025-2026 season

Barely three months after the team’s launch, Monaco United FC is slowly but surely writing the first pages of its history.
Coached by the trio of Marco Simone, Morris Pagniello and Justin Davis, the team will be able to count on the support of the Marzocco group as an official sponsor throughout the coming season. The support will enable the new Monegasque club to continue its development and simultaneously help foster women’s football in the Principality.
Two friendly matches over the summer
The foundations have also been laid on the pitch, with Monaco United FC’s women’s team playing two friendly matches this summer. The first came with a clear victory over Arles-Avignon (5-1), followed by a second more challenging game (1-5), against AC Milan’s U19 women.

Aside from the results, Marco Simone, coach of the Rock’s new team, was keen to highlight the gradual development of tactical play during the matches, while praising the work of his players in training. “Both in Arles and Milan, I saw sequences of play that were perfectly in line with the fundamentals I want to pass on, in particular forward-thinking play. This is very encouraging for the future,” he explained in a statement.
A Monegasque derby on the cards
A new player on the Principality’s sporting scene, Monaco United FC will be taking part in the 2025-2026 D5 women’s championship. They will face none other than AS Monaco Football Féminin’s second team – on Sunday 14 September at 3 pm – to contest the first ever derby between two Monaco clubs.
A week before the thrilling duel (Sunday, September 7, schedule to be confirmed), Marco Simone’s players will make their debut in official competition at the French Cup on the FC Carros pitch. It’s been a great start to the year and some memorable moments are surely in store for the nascent club founded on 9 June.
