The partnership follows Laureus’ commitment to the local athletics community last July at the 1000m Herculis EBS IAAF Diamond League.

Several major events related to the Monaco Run will precede the Laureus World Sports Awards, which will take place on Monday, February 18th:

– Three races will be held on Sunday 17 February: first, a 5km race will be organized in the spirit of the Diamond League Herculis EBS meeting and will encourage all participants, who run alongside elite runners, to establish leading performance. Then, a City Trail in the streets of Monaco will give participants the chance to enjoy the Principality on a route that no athlete has travelled before. There will also be a Pink Ribbon Walk for those who would like to participate in a gentler activity.

The Laureus World Sports Awards 2019 will bring together the biggest names in sports and entertainment to celebrate the achievements and achievements of the past year. The event also showcases the work of Laureus Sport for Good, which supports more than 150 programs in 40 countries, using the power of sport to address the many social issues facing children and youth around the world.

Jonathan Hill, CEO of Laureus World Sports Awards Limited, said: “In the continuity of our relationship established over the past year, we are pleased to extend our partnership with the Principality by launching the Sport for Good Run. We want to leave a lasting mark on Monaco, and there is no better way to do it than an event that encourages people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to play sports. I cannot wait to put on my sneakers and run on February 16th! “
