Monaco Philosophical Meetings: Publication of the Cahier N ° 4

The 4th issue of the annual review “The Cahier des Rencontres philosophistes de Monaco” has just been published. This 186-page book was produced in collaboration with Alain Fleischer. He is the Director of Fresnoy – National Studio of Contemporary Arts. It is available on the Rencontres website: www.philomonaco.com.

The Monaco Philosophical Meetings, founded in 2015 by Charlotte Casiraghi, Joseph Cohen, Robert Maggiori and Raphael Zagury-Orly, aims to promote philosophy, in particular, to monthly workshops allowing guests to deepen, exchange and transmit ideas on the theme of the year (De l’Amour in 2015/2016, The Body in 2016/2017, Responding to violence in 2017/2018 and The Human in 2018/2019).

An annual conference is held for two days in June on a theme (The Meeting in 2016, The Conversation in 2017 and The House of Philosophy in 2018). On this occasion, a jury of eminent thinkers awards the Prix des Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco to a book of philosophy published in French the year preceding the award ceremony, the Honorary Mention, which honours a French language editor illustrious in the publication of philosophical works. And finally, the Lyceen Prize which rewards a pupil who has spoken on a chosen theme.

This year, the Rencontres also organise the “Young Philosophers” Days from May 8 to 11, which aims to familiarise, raise awareness and make philosophy accessible to young people.
