AS Monaco Basketball mobilizes for blood donation

The recently renovated CHPG Blood Transfusion Center welcomed Serbian AS Monaco Basketball coach Sasa Obradovic last week for a blood donation.

The Monegasque coach was delighted to contribute to this noble cause: “This is the first time I give my blood. In Serbia and Russia, I have never had the opportunity to do so because of the movement and the sequence of matches,” he said.“I see that this is an important cause that helps people in trouble. I think everyone should give their blood.”

The aim of this action, which is also part of the Convention signed between the Government and the Principality’s professional basketball club, is to raise the awareness of the Roca Team fans about this important health issue.

In addition, as we approach the Formula 1 Grand Prix, from May 23 to 26, CHPG teams must increase their blood supply. With this in mind, two collections will be held at the Blood Transfusion Center on Tuesday, May 21 from 8am to 2pm and on Wednesday, May 22 from 10am to 3pm.

Every year 5,000 donations of blood are needed for the 800 patients transfused in the Principality. To give blood is an act of simple, generous and responsible solidarity, irreplaceable in the current state of the science.
