The Prince and Princess presided over the Monaco Red Cross’s annual first-aid graduation ceremony at the Rainier III Auditorium.

On Tuesday 17 March, the Rainier III Auditorium hosted the traditional first aid graduation ceremony, held following the General Assembly of the Monegasque Red Cross (CRM). The Sovereign Prince, President of the institution, and Princess Charlene, Vice-President, were accompanied by Camille Gottlieb and Mathieu Liberatore, Head of the First Aid Section

1,451 graduates trained in 2025

In total, 1,451 people obtained first aid certification during 2025, a figure that remained broadly stable compared to the previous year, according to a press release from the CRM. The majority of graduates passed the Civil Prevention and Rescue (PSC) diploma, which constitutes the first level of training. However, the organisation notes an increase in enrolment for more advanced courses, notably Team First Aid and the National Certificate in Water Safety and Rescue.

Special awards presented by the Prince and Princess

Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene honoured the most deserving graduates by presenting them with special awards. The three top first-aid students from the Collège Charles III, the François d’Assise-Nicolas Barré School and the International School of Monaco were among the winners, alongside representatives from the Police Academy, the Civil Service, Monaco City Hall, as well as the private and voluntary sectors.

For the current year, the Monaco Red Cross intends to strengthen training for the younger generation. The stated aim is to enable every secondary school student in the Principality to acquire and update their first aid skills before progressing to higher education or entering the workforce.
