Under the theme ‘Celestial’, the 57th International Bouquet Competition organised by the Garden Club of Monaco took place on Saturday and Sunday at the Monaco Yacht Club. Prince Albert II and the Princess of Hanover toured the participants’ stands.

Created in 1968 by Princess Grace, who wished to promote the art of floristry and the beauty of flowers in the Principality, the International Bouquet Competition has become one of the unmissable cultural events on the Monegasque calendar. For this 57th edition, held under the High Patronage of Prince Albert II and the Presidency of Princess Caroline of Hanover, the Monaco Yacht Club welcomed amateur designers, professionals and young talents from all over the world.

The Sovereign Prince and Princess Caroline viewed the displays together, accompanied by Mr Marco, Cécilia Casiraghi, Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, Minister of State Christophe Mirmand and Christiane da Luz. The theme ‘Celestial’ had inspired seven categories with poetic titles, ranging from ‘The Storm’ to ‘Lunar Luminescence’, via ‘An Eclipse’, ‘Dinner under the Stars’, ‘Red Moon over the Sea’ and ‘The Northern Lights’. A seventh category was reserved for children aged 6 to 14.

The awards ceremony, at which the Princess of Hanover took to the stage, recognised the most outstanding designs: special prizes celebrating originality, elegance, charm and colour harmony; gold, silver and bronze medals; and, finally, the overall Grand Prix and the Princess Grace of Monaco Prize, an award that honours the memory of the founder.
