The organization World of Blockchains Monaco is hosting their second professional conference all about blockchain technology in the Principality.

After the success of last May’s salon dubbed Monaco International Blockchain, the group is offering a new theme Blockchain, On en est où ? (EN: Blockchain, how far have we come?)

The salon will take place on Monday, November 5th, from 6:30 PM to 9 PM at the Monte-Carlo Bay (40 avenue Princesse Grace). The conference will address the progress being made around and with the disruptive technology, notably in legal terms and with ICO’s  (initial coin offerings). The meetup is also meant to create networking opportunities between actors in the blockchain field.

To open the event, Jean-Philippe Claret, president of World of Blockchains Monaco, will introduce the organization and give context to the conference. Jacques-Aurélien Marcireau of Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management and Philippe Ortelli of FEDEM will also take the stage. Ongoing blockchain-based projects will be presented by Ledgity, GreenFid, and Cardmap.

Projects en route

Information about ongoing blockchain projects will be presented by respective members of each organization:

Angelo Pallanca will speak on Cardmap, a tourism application that employs augmented reality, which allows travelers to orient themselves more accurately and to experience real-time city guides with the help of blockchain technology.

Franck Nicolas will address Greenfid, an ecological application that helps inform local communities to potential projects and facilitates voting on environmental improvement projects to bring them to action.

Pierre-Yves Dittlot will talk about the platformLedgity, which is currently dedicated to the distribution and peer-to-peer exchange of security tokens. Ledgity performs these services via mobile application. They propose to make asset exchange as simple as sending a text message on a smartphone.

Smart Monaco

With the help of national advisor Thierry Poyet, Monaco is en route to becoming a key player in European blockchain development. In 2018, Poyet proposed a law that would provide a legal structure for the large-scale deployment of this technology. His vision is to lead the Principality toward becoming a worldwide leader in the blockchain economy.

Under the law, Monaco’s framework would incite businesses to use the technology and render the Principality a destination for existing structures seeking a flexible, modern, pragmatic regulations. The technology, with its practically limitless applications (cryptocurrency, medical files, decentralizing administrative services, etc.), can serve as an integral tool for future Smart Monaco.
