Monaco advances to quarterfinal with victory over Mans

This long-awaited match did not disappoint! Yesterday evening, for the start of the season on the Antares hardwood, AS Monaco registered a brilliant victory against Mans (87-78). Thanks to this first success, the Roca Boys qualify directly for the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France, which will take place in March 2020, in Trélazé.

And the worst thing is that the demanding Sasa Obradovic was unhappy after the win over Mans! “There are a lot of details to correct that make the difference between a great team and any other team,” he said on the club’s official website. We understand that behind these remarks the coach’s intention to remind the organization that the road to great success is still long. But, for a first match played away from home, the Roca Team is looking rather season-ready.

Ouattara already in mid-season form

This victory in the Coupe de France (87-78) was not a toss up. The trio of Kim Tillie, Dee Bost and Will Yeguete controlled the flow of the game while Yakuba Ouattara (21 pts) ensured the scoring in the game’s tight moments. Of course, the Roca Team could have killed the game well before, especially after leading 20 points at the end of the 1st quarter. But the essential thing is the win and, above all, the team showed that it was undoubtedly even better armed than last year.
