A little less than a month after group training started up again, AS Monaco will play its first game of preparation against Cercle de Bruges this Friday, July 17th at 18:30.

The players of Monaco’s football club made their return on 22nd June, adapting so that training took on a very particular form. The pandemic forced them to follow the imposed health protocols. The players therefore had antibody tests, PCR screening tests as well as the traditional pre-season physical and medical tests.

ASM’s long-awaited comeback

Satisfied with the results, the team was able to return to the pitch at La Turbie Training Centre on 29th June. The work was organised in small groups before a collective training session a few days later. It was a real “breath of fresh air” for the Reds and Whites, who had been waiting several months for this return.

Training has since picked up the pace under the Robert Moreno’s command. The friendly match against Cercle de Bruges “will allow us to observe whether our training instructions are understood by the players, and to observe and note their progress in order to start outlining the two teams’ current state“¸ said the coach of the Monegasque team at a press conference in early July.
