A historic first: Michelin Guide 2026 Ceremony comes to Monaco
For the first time in more than 120 years, the prestigious Michelin Guide ceremony is venturing beyond France. On 16 March 2026, Monaco will host the awards for the France & Monaco selection at the Grimaldi Forum.
The event will unveil the new line-up of Michelin-starred restaurants, along with the winners of the Guide’s special awards, which highlight service, sustainability and emerging talent. It is being organised in partnership with the Monaco Government and the Société des Bains de Mer.
A historic destination for the Michelin Guide
Monaco’s ties to the Michelin Guide go back to the very beginning: the Principality was included in the first edition, published in 1900. More than a century later, it still holds a unique place on the global gastronomic map. Within just two square kilometres, Monaco boasts eight Michelin-starred restaurants with a total of thirteen stars in the 2025 edition, making it the state with the highest concentration of starred establishments in the world.
“By holding the Michelin Guide ceremony in Monaco for the first time, we are honouring a historic destination for the Guide, whose culinary scene embodies excellence, creativity and international influence,” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide.

An outstanding gastronomy scene
Monaco’s current Michelin star tally is as follows: one three-star restaurant (Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo), three two-star restaurants (Les Ambassadeurs, Le Blue Bay, L’Abysse Monte-Carlo) and four one-star restaurants (Elsa, La Table d’Antonio Salvatore at Rampoldi, Le Grill, Pavyllon).
The ceremony will bring together all of the chefs whose restaurants are recognised in the 2026 selection, along with many leading figures from the world of gastronomy – industry professionals, institutional representatives and journalists. The event will also be broadcast live on the Michelin Guide’s social media channels.
