There was no suspense. The crew in the No. 2 Kia E-Niro lived up to its billing with a clear win at the legendary 100% electric Automobile Club de Monaco event.

Despite this year’s edition being more competitive than ever, Guido Guerrini and Artur Prusak performed as befits their ranking. Leading the Bridgestone FIA ecoRally Cup heading into Monaco, the Italian and Polish drivers showed their consistency, winning the flagship race together for the first time. They have both been winners, but never as a duo.

The title in their sights

Sitting in fourth place on Wednesday evening after the first stage, via the famous Col de Turini, Guido Guerrini and Artur Prusak decided to move it up a gear the next day. In their N°2 car, they managed to make up their deficit to move into the lead, and there they stayed right to the end of the four special stages.

Although Guido Guerrini and Artur Prusak won just one of the 14 special stages, they showed greater consistency than their rivals, in particular Eduardo Carpinteiro Albino and José Carlos Figueiredo. The Portuguese pair finished second overall, four points behind the winners. A small handicap, admittedly, but not enough to hope for victory.

Guido Guerrini and Artur Prusak’s victory with 236 penalty points takes them a step closer to the title of Bridgestone FIA ecoRally Cup champion, an electric motorsport competition that takes place in real road conditions.
