The White Lotus season 4 begins filming in Monaco, Cannes and Saint-Tropez
After Hawaii, Sicily and Thailand, the Emmy Award-winning series is setting up its cameras on the French Riviera for its fourth season. Filming, which began on 15 April, is taking place in Cannes, Saint-Tropez and Monaco.
The Principality is definitely becoming a popular setting for major international productions. Whilst Emily in Paris announced that its sixth season would be partly filmed in Monaco from May, another hit series has taken the lead: The White Lotus, the HBO social satire created by Mike White, has officially begun filming on the French Riviera. In recent weeks, casting calls for extras have multiplied on the French Riviera, a sign of the intense filming activity in the region this spring of 2026.
The plot unfolds during the Cannes Film Festival
The fourth season will follow a new group of guests and staff at the White Lotus over the course of a week during the Cannes Film Festival. According to the American magazine Variety, two luxury hotels have been chosen as the main locations: the Airelles Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez, renamed the White Lotus du Cap, and the Hôtel Martinez in Cannes, which will become the White Lotus Cannes. Scenes will also be filmed in Monaco, with the plot remaining centred on the French Riviera.
Vincent Cassel and Laura Smet join the cast
The cast includes Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Kumail Nanjiani, Heather Graham, Rosie Perez and Nadia Tereszkiewicz, alongside Laura Smet, Corentin Fila and Sandra Bernhard. According to Variety, the production team will be present throughout the Cannes Film Festival, and the cast are expected to walk the red carpet at least once during the festival’s second week, which runs from 12 to 23 May.
The series, written and directed by Mike White, is streamed on HBO Max. No release date has yet been announced for this fourth season.
