On Thursday 15 December, at the Prince’s Palace, Prince Albert II presented Michel Boeri with the insignia of Grand Officer in the Order of the Grimaldis. He was a lawyer until 2007 and served for 30 years on the National Council (1972-2003), including as chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, before joining the Crown Council in 2006. He has chaired the Council since 2018.

In a press release, the Prince’s Palace refers to “an exceptional career in the service of the general interest and the Principality’s international influence”. Michel Boeri has also been President of the Automobile Club de Monaco since 1972. He is partly responsible for the creation of the Electric and Historic Grand Prix which run alongside the Monaco Grand Prix every year.

“Grand Officer” is one of five classes in the Order of Grimaldis: Knight, Officer, Commander, Grand Officer and Grand Cross. The first three are ranks and the two highest ones are dignities.
