With a red flag floating above the sublime Larvotto beach due to organic pollution, the start of the season was somewhat slow. A quickly forgotten issue that did not give stop the regulars from enjoying their favorite spots.

As with every year, guides are present throughout the summer on Monegasque handicap-accessible beaches to offer their services to the elderly and disabled. Every day until 4:30 pm, everything is made available for enjoying a pleasant moment on the sand with umbrellas and adapted chairs, as well as in the sea thanks to the Tiralo. With free access, the handicapped beachgoers take full advantage of the facilities and sunny weather in this warm and friendly atmosphere.

Pollution and renovations, handicap hazards managed

Poised by a spike in pollution due to an accidental overflow of sewage into the storm drains, the opening of Larvotto Beach has known a difficult start to this season. Fortunately, the bathing permit was quickly reissued after conclusive water tests as early as July 3rd. A result that delighted the many followers of the handicap-accessible facilities who enjoyed a location that was a bit emptier than usual.

The only downside is future redevelopment work and its impact on the accessibility of beaches for the upcoming summer season. But doubts can be dispelled, as beach and handicapped beachgoers can sunbathe on the Larvotto beach throughout the summer of 2020.
