The USA Princess Grace Foundation Gala was held this week in New York in the presence of Prince Albert II and his daughter, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi. 25 artists from film, dance, and theater were rewarded during the evening.
This Monday, November 25th, a bit of Monaco was present at the prestigious Plaza Hotel in New York. The Princess Grace Foundation delegates its gala awards each year to artists from the world of dance, theater, and film. A special evening, since this 2019 edition also marked the 90th anniversary of the birth of Princess Grace. A ceremony presided by Prince Albert II during which a tribute was paid to the Princess disappeared 37 years ago. Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, daughter of the Sovereign, was also present at the ceremony.
A tribute to Princess Grace
During the evening, 25 artists’ talents were distinguished with a prize. Among them, actress Bernadette Peters received the Rainier III Award, while director Chinonye Chukwu received the Princess Grace Award for her film Clemency. The foundation aims to support emerging artists and thus pursue a commitment that is dear to the heart of Monaco’s Grace. In addition to prizes, scholarships were also awarded to young actors and dancers during the ceremony.
