The theme of this year’s general debate is “Universal health coverage: leave no one behind”. In his speech, Mr. Gamerdinger returned to the measures implemented in the Principality to provide the best care to the entire population of Monaco with an approach based on the needs of the person at all ages of life.

He also referred to the actions of the Prince’s Government as part of its international cooperation to achieve the goal of universal health coverage at the global level.

This 72nd World Health Assembly should, in addition to the usual technical and health issues, adopt the Organization’s 2020-2021 Program-Budget, aligned with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

For the record, the World Health Assembly is the highest decision-making body of the WHO and is responsible for defining the Organization’s policy and approving its budgets. WHO is the main multilateral partner of the Prince’s Government in international cooperation.
