Presentation of the first activity book of history of Monaco

In the presence of the Sovereign Prince, Mr. Patrice Cellario, Government Counselor Minister of the Interior, and many personalities, Mrs. Isabelle Bonnal, Director of National Education, Youth and Sports, presented the first Volume of the Activity Book of the history of Monaco, entitled “Monaco, my story”.

This booklet, developed for the CE2 classes, is an innovative and fun learning tool, which benefits from the major pedagogical assets that digital technology can bring. It is the result of a high-quality partnership with the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology of Monaco and its Director Mrs. Elena Rossoni-Notter.

The presentation was made at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology, partner of the Directorate of National Education, Youth and Sports for more than 10 years. And referent in the development of this book, entirely dedicated to the periods of the Prehistory and Antiquity in the Principality.

Prefaced by the Sovereign Prince, this Activity Book, which is a first in Monaco, was entirely produced by Ms. Armelle Borro, Head of the Pedagogic Training Center and Ms. Caroline Leroy, Pedagogical Advisor. It has the particularity to have been tested with the students, chapter by chapter, before its edition (Editions des Moulins, directed by Mr. Marwan Abdo-Hanna), which made it perfectly adapted to its young public.

This book contains many documents from the publications and works of the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology: it also uses the latest discoveries from pedagogy and neuroscience.

The activity book will be included in the list of textbooks for the next school year 2019-2020. It will be followed by a volume 2 for the classes of CM1 (From the Middle Ages to the Restoration). And a volume 3 for the classes of CM2 (Contemporary era).
