Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie in Monaco

As part of the preparations for the 36th session of the Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie to be held in the Principality on October 30 and 31. Prince Albert II welcomed, in front of the audience, at the Prince’s Palace Ms. Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of La Francophonie.

On the sidelines of this interview, here are the impressions of the new Secretary General, officially in office since 3rd January after her election at the end of the Yerevan Summit in October 2018. Ms Mushikiwabo emphasized the importance of the Ministerial Conference, which will gather at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco the 88 States and Governments members of the Francophonie, 450 people expected.

“The Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie is preparing the Summit of Heads of State and Government, so it is a very important issue. This year we are part of a theme of consciousness about the planet. Reconciling humanity and the planet: perspectives in the Francophone space on the eve of 50 years of the OIF – which is also a subject of importance to the Monegasque authorities”, said Ms Mushikiwabo.

“This will be for me the 1st Ministerial Conference, and I intend to take the opportunity to build or renew relations with Ministers of the Francophone space. And especially to share with them the adjustments and changes that I would like to promote as the new Secretary General, and this in view of the Summit of November 2020 in Tunis which will be the Summit of the 15th anniversary”.
