Monaco Art En Ciel 2019: Victory of the English fireworks

The 2019 edition of the International Fireworks Contest, Monaco Art en Ciel, closed on Saturday, August 10 with the firing of the Ukrainian fireworks, succeeding their competitors Lithuanian, Spanish and English.

It was after deliberation of the jury, gathered on the terrace of the Yacht Club of Monaco, that Melanie Flachaire, Councilor Communal, Delegate to Espace Léo Ferré – whose municipal teams organize the contest, took the floor to open the award ceremony. And also thanked all the collaborators and participants of the event.

André J. Campana, Deputy Mayor and President of the Jury, then unveiled the winners:

1. England – Sirotechnics Fireworks
2. Spain – Hermanos Caballer
3. Lithuania – Blikas
4. Ukraine – Dance of Fire

This year, Lithuania (Blikas) opened the competition on July 20, followed by Spanish artificers (Hermanos Caballer) on July 27, then England on August 3 (Sirotechnics Fireworks), and finally Ukraine (Dance of Fire) on August 10.

Alongside the President, André J. Campana, the jury was this year composed of Claude Bollati – Deputy Mayor, Séverine Canis, Director of Foresight, Urban Planning and Mobility. Along with Françoise Cellario, Danielle Marchadier and Mathis Chatillon, all three passionate about pyrotechnics.

The jury members had the difficult task of evaluating the four shows according to defined scoring criteria – from the conception to the final bouquet, through the synchronization, the originality, the choice of colours, the choice of music – to award the supreme award, the Jury Prize.
