On Friday 24 October in Villefranche-sur-Mer, the team behind the charity swimming and sports event Les Marinières en Rose (The Pink Sailor Shirts) presented a cheque for €11,000 to Benoîte Rousseau de Sevelinges, Director of the Princess Grace Hospital (CHPG).

The amount, raised through the fourth edition of Les Marinières en Rose during Octobre Rose (Pink October) and the first swim across the Villefranche Bay, will help fund care for breast cancer patients — including psychological support, adapted physical activities and beauty and wellness treatments.

A human and solidarity-driven adventure

Held on 5 October, the event brought together nearly 500 participants in a friendly and dedicated atmosphere. Launched by Benjamin Mondou and Patricia Plessis, representatives of Century 21 Lafage (a network of 12 agencies between Nice and Monaco), the initiative has become a symbol of solidarity and hope on the Côte d’Azur.

Surrounded by Mayor Christophe Trojani, local officials, volunteers and partners, the organisers paid tribute to Isabelle — a dear friend and source of inspiration for the project — during a moving moment shared with her husband Pierre. “Les Marinières en Rose is above all a heartfelt initiative. Seeing our teams come together for such an important cause as the fight against breast cancer moves me deeply. This commitment is part of who we are at Century 21 Lafage: women and men united around values of solidarity and kindness,” said Benjamin Mondou in a statement.
