On Sunday, the Prince’s Palace published an elegant photograph of the former Olympic champion to celebrate her birthday.
On Sunday 25 January, Princess Charlene celebrated her 48th birthday. To mark the occasion, the Prince’s Palace shared a new portrait highlighting the Sovereign’s wife, taken by photographer Eric Mathon. This image brings to a close an exceptional 2025 for the South African, who has made numerous notable appearances in the Principality.

In mid-December, she dazzled at the Christmas Ball in a white cape dress by Jenny Packham. A few days later, she treated Monegasque children to the Monaco sous les étoiles show, a charitable initiative whose proceeds benefited her Foundation and the Monaco SPA, of which she is president. On 31 December, she addressed her New Year’s greetings to the Monegasque people alongside Prince Albert II, Hereditary Prince Jacques and her daughter, Princess Gabriella.

A tireless commitment
Since the creation of her Foundation in 2012, Princess Charlene has been increasingly involved in activities promoting drowning prevention and education through sport. In November, she took part in the Rokethon with her Chihuahua, Harley. In October, she travelled to Georgia to support young Monegasque rugby players. Her work on behalf of children earned her the Monaco Star Award in December, the first distinction awarded by the International Action Committee of the Christmas Ball.
From the National Day to the Grand Prix, via the 25th anniversary of the Grimaldi Forum and the presentation of the Socrates Prize in Paris during the Ballon d’Or ceremony, Prince Albert II’s wife made her mark on 2025 with her constant presence.
